What does it mean to participate?

(Please read the printed essay:
Lygia Clark and Helio Oiticica: A Legacy of Interactivity and Participation for a Telematic Future)
Please create a new work
(in any medium, but not in documentation or written form) that engages some aspect of participation.

work 2:
The idea for this piece is : put a sexy sound in the box and make a very small hole right in the center of the box. When people heard this piece will feel curious about what's inside of the box and then can't wait to see it. But when people start to see the hole they will recognize that they could not see anything except themselves.
Consider mode of production, distribution, and reception as important aspects of your investigation of participation.
Your project may focus on social, cultural, political, physical / sensory, and/or psychological aspects of participation.
Issues of authorship may be challenged by the work.
Ownership may be the question you choose to engage (e.g., you might interrogate the notion of the art object as commodity, or more broadly consider historical models of architecture and urban planning, resource management or the design of infrastructure as it relates to physical v. virtual space / bandwidth / access).
Performance and ritual may be the platform from which you focus your inquiry.
Tell us something new or engage a debate through advancing a clear position or argument through your work.
Whatever approach you take, issues of access to information technology and the role of interface in shaping and dictating modes of participation are central concerns that you should consider.
